Thor Ragnarok Review

‘The battle scenes are very entertaining with an excellent soundtrack (Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin) playing at the start of each main battle.’
Director: Taika Waititi
Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston & Cate Blanchett
Synopsis: When Thor gets imprisoned on the planet Sakaar, he teams up with Loki, Hulk and Valkyrie to get back to Asgard and stop his sister Hela, the Goddess of Death.
Let’s start off with one thing: Hela is Odin’s (Thor’s father) first born, so technically she has a rightful claim to the throne and, therefore, should be the Queen of Asgard. But yet even though she is the Queen of Asgard, no-one listens to her and she kills most of her army. Of course, this is because none of them know who Hela is, as her existence has been covered up. Some of the characters, who are easily fooled elsewhere in the film, seem stubbornly reticent to acknowledge her claims and they not don’t care to listen to her intentions.
Anyway, the good things about the film is that the plot is very good, and the battle scenes are very entertaining with an excellent soundtrack (Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin) playing at the start of each main battle. Some backstory is explored drives the plot towards revenge. Another good thing is the idea of Sakaar, a world that’s home to the contest of champions, which brings some of the films highlights, even if it is a bit insane!
Overall, I think this film is very good and I would strongly recommend it.
Thor Ragnarok is currently available on Sky and Disney Plus. It was rated 12A by the BBFC.
